So hello to all of you, random computer newb here. You know when you plug in a usb device in your computer, it makes that sound thingy? Well when I plug in my mouse, there's no sound. I don't think it's the port's fault, because I can use anything usb in it, except for said mouse. But I don't think it's the mouse's fault either, because it still lights up. When I plug it in sometimes it shows the device driver installing thing, but instead of it being a "USB OPTICAL MOUSE" its named a Unidentified Device. When I try to find drivers for it in Device Manager, it fails miserably. Once it did show the device driver installing thing, and it said USB OPTICAL MOUSE, but then it says it was cancelled because I "unplugged" it. My mouse is a Newmen G10 gaming mouse, and I can't download the driver in the manufacturer's site. Another mouse works on the pc, but it's my sister's, so I can't really use it for the long run. I did try the mouse on my laptop and it worked, but when I tried it the second time around, it didn't work anymore. Pleaaaase I'm desperate for help. I know some of you will just say buy another mouse, but the mouse is just 3 months old, and I don't want the money I spent to be wasted.

And all this happened while I was getting a snack in the kitchen. One second it works and when I came back, it doesn't anymore. Thanks for those who will help.

I can't really answer that question, because the 2 machines are the only computers that I have as of now.

I did some more searching, and I found out that turning off the option to "allow the computer to turn off the this device to save power" might help, and it did, but just by a little bit. Now the usb device plugged on/off sound can be heard sometimes, and the mouse will work for 5 seconds or so before going back to not working.

Nothing's really been changed since I did the stuff on the link. Looks like I really need to buy a new one, and one from a brand like logitech or something so that driver issues will be easily dealt with. Thanks anyways for the help.
