mouse wheel powers down mouse

My mouse stopped working due to ware n tare. so i took out the section of wire that was bent and messed up, reqired everything and electrical taped it all back together. BTW, this was all after i couldnt figure out how to open up the mouse and ripped it open before finding the screw. now the mouse works, left click, right click, middle click. but as i use the scroller, each notch turns it off, then a notch further turns if back on. turn a notch and mouse stops working, laser light blinks quickly, and device manager no longer reads any device connected, turn the notch again, everything is back to normal.

Sounds like you need a new mouse.
