So I recently re-installed Windows (kept my files) and since then the keyboard works fine but the mouse only works in the bios. There isn't even a pointer on the screen. It doesn't appear in the device manager either. Not sure what to do. Any help would be appreciated

If a Razer mouse you will need to install the driver for the mouse that came with it for windows via the provided disk.

In the bios select advanced mode. if Uefi capable.
In your bios of your motherboard also make sure the option of detect usb legacy devices is enabled.

And the option of CSM mode is enabled.
Set the mode to manual for Csm mode.

And the boot option/ hardware detection to Legacy op rom \ Uefi.

You will also find a list of usb hubs or ports in the bios that can be set to enabled or disabled if the board supports more than 10 usb connection devices. check the table for what is enabled from ports 1 to 10 or more.
