Hi. I have a laptop whose model is Toshiba Satellite L855-14M. Very old laptop per se, it is total potato in today's standards. But; my financial situation doesn't give me an opportunity to build a new PC so I want a help about something unpopular because; I have work to do and I have to rely on my laptop.
This laptop overheats so much. And, I wanna cry when my laptop suddenly shutdowns. I am not a fan of laptops. Laptops have more cons than pros imo such as; overheating, non-ergonomical usage, unused/unnecessary parts such as optical drive, internal webcam and touchpad. I want to dodge this unpleasantnesses. I want to ask you if you can suggest me a set/tool/case to move my inner compounds to a desktop/desktop-esque case. And, if a super duper cooler is available for this reason.
Actualy, I can consider a new desktop motherboard which can accept my laptop's internal components. But; my OEM license will be wasted in this scenario. Do you know if I can use Windows 10 without activation or I can clone an OEM license from a motherboard to another motherboard?
If I stick on laptop's motherboard, I know I can add external gpu through PCI slot (you know internal wireless slot I guess) but; is it viable for a designing graphic cards like Nvidia QUADRO? Is performance issues the case? Because; PCIe x16 much more faster than PCI slot so I think bottleneck may be the case.
Also, can you suggest me a software which can detect all possible hardware defects?
I am a non-native english speaker which don't know much about electronics so; feel free to correct me about my grammar or my information. Thanks guys.
