move the memory from Dell inspiron 5423 to samsung ultrabook series 5

I have 2 laptops. one Dell inspiron 5423 and a samsung ultrabook series 5. Dell one has 8GB of memory and the samsung has only 4. up on the research ive done both has the same type of the memory so decided transfer of of the 4Gb memories from dell to my samsung which i use the most because its light weigh to carry around. but after installing the memory the system wont turn on. removed the memory and it works again.
Any idea whats going on?

Both support same memory type as you found out. If you installed one RAM to the samsung and still it does not work, then the voltage could be the factor. 1.35v as opposed to the usual 1.5v

Well based on my logic if they support the same memory type then it should be the same voltage also. If not then its not the same memory type.
