So I had a few partitions on my 2T drive, but I decided to put everything into one partition. And so I did. I read somewhere that most programs won't have any problems if I just copy & paste to another location. But, now I don't see any of their icons, even if I manually change the icon it still stays a white file thing. But they work fine, as they did before.

I did not move anything from my C:/ drive anywhere! C is my SSd which i didnt touch. Only the partitions on the HDD

So, I tried reinstalling them, but still no icons.

Today, I read that if one is moving a program from one drive to another he must reinstall. Which I didn't do.

I don't know how to fix my icons now, and I don't know what other information you need to figure out a solution.

Now, I have one partition on the HDD, and on it in the root there are 4 folders: Games, Programs, Media & Stuff. In programs there is Program Files and inside the programs, the same as they were before I moved them.

If you need information in order to help me, do ask.

I am sorry if something is unclear, but Battlefield 4 just released here half an hour ago so I'm in a hurry 😉

Whoever wrote that was dead wrong.

When you install an application, entries in the registry, the desktop shortcut, and other settings point to that location.
If you later move it (as you seem to have done) those values are not automatically changed.

Ideally, what you do is Uninstall, and then install in the new location.

As I said, I tried reinstalling into the new location but nothing. Yes I also tried remaking the shortcut. Is it possible to completely remove everything that a program made on your computer (all the settings, all the registry stuff, everything)? Actually all that's wrong is the icons, the programs work fine. I noticed that some games, which I also moved, still have their icons. For the shortcuts that dont have their icons, when I went to manually change there was the icon sellectable, and I chose it, but nothing changed. Also, I noticed that even the .exe files themselves (in the program install locatiobln) don't have icons anymore. Don't the .exe files have icons in them? What if I created the partition P again (where the programs were) and move one program back there and see if it would get icon back? Maybe because everything about it is linked to P/Program Files? Could the problem be that the 'Program Files' folder isn't in the root of the partition/drive? I noticed that Origin (the game hub thing) creates a folder in the root of my new H\ disk, and calls it 'Program Files (x86)' and makes an empty 'Origin' folder in it. I deleted it and it came back the next time I launched Origin. I installed origin after the moving of programs. After this I thought that maybe the folder 'Program Files' needs to be in the root? If it does, than I should move the Program Files folder from my current 'Programs' folder (which is in root) into the root. Or would this cause even more problems because of moving again? It's only the icons which I'm spending my time for, but I want them back.
