Movie Maker 2 - Cannot capture video anymore

I made a little movie with MM2. I had more footage to
add to it, but now when I try to capture video - the
error is 'video device is in use'. I also downloaded
Service Pack 2.
But before this I had downloaded the creativity fun pack
to use with MM2 (which has end / start title and
EXCELLENT sound effects / transitions from
www.sounddogs.com... But now, I can't finish the thing!
Why would it just stop being able to capture? The device
manager does NOT show any error either.
I can IMPORT previously shot footage, just not capture
directly from my video.
If anyone can give me any direction that would be great.

What are you trying to capture from?

i am having the same problem i am capturing from a canon zr85 digitak camcorder
my device manager says everything is working properly i tried on ulead ,nero
, and mm2 can anyone help oh also i am using firewire
