Movie Maker slow and not using full CPU

Hello everyone - long time lurker, first time poster. I'm trying to edit and post a video using win movie maker, but it takes FOREVER to save. 10 minute movie, I'm less than half done, and it's been a half hour (at least). Resource monitor says I'm less than 20% CPU usage and GPu-Z shows it's not using my video card to encode

How do I maximize speed/CPU usage in movie maker?

Specs:
i5-2500K @ 3.30 GHz, OC to 3.6 GHz
16 GB ram (4.1 GB used)
AMD Radeon 6800 Series
OS on SSD, file storage on HDD
...

Thanks in advance for any help... I'm running out of video patience!

It works strictly on one core, doesn't use GPU for anything but displaying, it's an old program and there are much better ones.
