[SOLVED] Moving an old HDD to new PC

Hello,

I'm gonna build a new PC soon and i wanna move my old HDD to the new PC as secondary drive, the OS will be installed on M.2 separately. my question is, will i be able to move the HDD to the new PC without formatting or configure something in Windows ? The HDD is now configured is Local Disk D, will it be the same in the new PC?

Hi, It might get different letter, but no issues in using it for data. Leave it disconnected until installing Windows on the SSD, then power off and connect it. Access the BIOS and make sure that the SSD is still the first boot drive.
