Hi

I noted that when I download a movie (in directory A) (let say about 1,9 GB) and after that I move (Cut command) it on different directory ( named B) on the same drive the transfer speed is very slow..aroung 40-80 MB/s. Is that normal?

File size 1,9 GB

Cut from dir A to B - 40-80 MB/s
Copy from dir A to B - 150-190 MB/s
Cut from dir B to A - absolutely random between 500-900 MB/s but not less
Copy from dir B to A - absolutely random between 500-900 MB/s but not less

The HDD is Western Digital Blue 1 TB 7200 RPM - SATA 3

Windows 10 Pro
16 GB RAM
Intel i7 - 4490
Asus Pro Gamer

Solution
That would be normal. If you are creating a 2nd copy of the 1.9GB movie on the same HDD, that HDD's control arm needs to read and write data at the same time. If you make a copy of the movie on a 2nd drive, only one drive needs to read the data and the other drive writes the data, which is faster.
