Question Moving Desktop from C: drive to my D: drive

Hi,
I have (C:drive) 128 GB Solid State Drive and 1 TB (D:drive) Hard Drive and my C drive gets filled up fast so I moved my desktop, documents, download, music, pictures and video on to my D:drive along with any thing I install, I have always done this to my PC but this time for some reason anytime I do anything with my desktop as in delete a file or move or add a folder or basically anything I get a delay and sometimes have to go out of folder and back in to see the delete or move ect. Hope this makes sense and just wondering what I might have done wrong. Thanks for any help....

How did you "move" them?

Made a folder on D driver example... DATA (D) >maree>Desktop then went to C drive under users>maree>desktop and clicked on properties and location and move to and went to D drive clicked on DATA(D) >maree>Desktop and moved it.

While that function exists (I used to do it), it can be quite finicky.

How full is the C drive?
(and this is one of the many reasons a 120/128GB is not recommended anymore)
