HI,
Please does anyone know how to move the DNS files to another drive ?
Or do they have to reside in the system32 dir ?

The reason i ask this is that im looking into clustering DNS, obviously i
know that the reg files need to be clustered with the DNS service but i cant
see how to specify where the dns files reside either through a zone or the
registry.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Dean

This is not really for the faint of heart but you can do this.

Change the database directory, see this article:
http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/WindowsServ/2003/all/deployguide/en-us/Default.asp?url=/resources/documentation/WindowsServ/2003/all/deployguide/en-us/93272.asp

Stop the DNS server service.

Move all files EXCEPT "boot" if you have one to the new location.

Start the DNS server service. Verify that files have been properly loaded
from new location.
