[SOLVED] Moving entire games to a new clean SSD?

Alright, I have a SSD on one computer with steam installed to it and various games, too. I'm wanting to know if I just take this "games only" SSD and put it in the new PC can I transfer the games to the new SSD or just run it from the old one?

I am asking because I use mobile hotspot data and every month I'm capped @ 25gb, so trying to re-download a sizable game would be difficult!

Give us a rundown of ALL the parts involved. Old and new.

Also, current starting point and desired end point....data, OS, etc, etc.

okay, what I want to do is install a fresh windows 10 to the 120gb SSD, while my 860 evo I'm getting holds all the games because it's 500gb!

I am thinking I can just transfer the games from the 120gb SSD to the 860 EVO, but how could I do that if I'm going to install windows 10 to the 120gb SSD?

I strongly recommend against a 120GB SSD for the OS drive.
Do it the other way around.

500GB - OS, applications, whatever games fit
120GB - a couple of other games.

This is exactly the same drive space, but far less hassle working with a 120GB drive as the OS thing.

Where is everything now? What drives?

I mean I wouldn't put anything but the OS onto the 120gb, leaving all the games to be installed into the 500gb SSD!

Right now I have the 120gb SSD in this laptop for all my games, it's just an extra addition to the laptop that I installed myself, and the other SSD is on it's way!

I seclude the games onto another drive leaving the OS not to get too cramped and have W10 free of clutter

Everyone says "only the OS on the little drive". It never ever ends up that way. Nor should it.
Drivers, utilities, game saves, etc, etc, etc.....

Just speaking from experience, a 120GB drive is slim.
It can be made to work, but why would you.

🤣 This is true!! Alright man ty for the help, I'll just put my OS and games on the 500GB. I remember I have an external sata to usb and I can just transfer them that way!
