Im building a new computer and migrating my old Hard drive to the new build.
Does the windows 10 license stay with the drive/motherboard?
How do I redeem it on the new one?

Thanks

(edit: does it get linked to my microsoft account? (I do not know if I already did that)

Solution
This old PC, was it an upgrade from 7 or 8, or is it an OEM copy of Win 10? I only ask as certain big OEM like Dell have special licences that cannot be moved.

Otherwise, look in settings/update & security/activation
If next to activation it says Windows is activated with a digital license then your licence is currently tied to the motherboard, you can create a MIcrosoft account if you don't have one now by clicking this link - https://account.microsoft.com/ - and then clicking add an account on activation page

If it says Windows is activated with a digital license linked to your Microsoft account, then your account is already linked to licence.
