Moving Hard drives

I have a 6g Western Digital IDE with W2K installed. The hard drive is currently set as the master on a Compaq. I want to swap it to a Dell. What kind of problems will I have?

Do you want to use it as boot drive, or just as additional data disk?

My case has so many fans that it hovers above the ground .

I want to be able to use it as the boot drive as this is the only hd that I currently have. Also I have been searching the Internet for documentation on this and have yet to be able to find anything. Would you happen to know of such a place?

You will need to reinstall all drivers and the old drivers can give problems when replacing them with new one.
And I don't know if there is something Compaq related (special master boot record, or whatever) on the disk which may give problems on your new system. But when I placed a 2 GB drive from my old Compaq 486 to my Pentium 75 networkserver it would run perfect after changing some drivers, but this was Windows95.
