Hi folks,

I'm trying to move the HDDs from my NAS (which is set to RAID 1) to my desktop. They are not now, or will they ever, be used to boot from. There is no OS on them.

As of right now I just moved them over physically, and Windows 7 recognizes them in Disk Management. But I cannot assign a letter to them or access the data.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Run some free recovery software to back up the data then do a fresh format on the drives. There's always going to be compatibility issues when transferring from a NAS which is running a Linux based system to a windows desktop.

You're data should be easily recoverable and then you can start fresh with the drives formatted for windows.

Thanks for getting back. I downloaded Linux Reader, and will fiddle around with it. Do you have any advice on the use of this product? I'm going to be looking for some sort of tutorial in the meantime.

Thanks again.
