Question moving hdd to another pc

i have a dell inspiron 3650, it has windows 10
and i have another pc, can i take the hdd to the another pc from the dell? when i boot up would my files and the system be there ? and is there anything that i need to know before i change ? or should i just get another hdd and install windows on it ?.

The files should be there but given how Windows 10 doesn't like certain environmental changes, you're best off by backing up all critical content onto a removable storage device and then migrate the HDD. Though you need to keep in mind that we suggest that you reinstall the OS after you migrate the HDD to another platform unless ofc it's identical in every manner, shape and form(which is highly unlikely).

Yeah get another HDD, drop it into another system, install OS onto it(after recreating bootable installer using Windows Media Creation Tools) and then migrate data from old drive to new.

SINCE that copy is a DELL OEM , BELONGS to DELL you will need a new license to move it to a new PC.

so i cant use the same windows copy, but i can migrate the data from old hdd to new ?

No you can't that copy basically belongs to DELL , you need to purchase a new license to use on another PC.

I would backup like Lutfij explained above before moving the HDD to it's next setup.
