Moving important stuff to one drive

My pc has gotten really slow and buggy in the last few months, and i was thinking of completely re-installing windows. The pc's about 4-5 years old (with some upgrades along the way), and running windows 10. I've been having problems such as steam not installing games, file explorer crashing, task manager being unusable and a lot of programs straight out not working.I have a 250GB SDD, a 1tb hdd and a 2tb hdd. In order to re-install and fix the problems, I was thinking of moving all important stuff to the 1tb, removing it from the pc, and wiping the other two drives. I'm concerned that some/all of the items on that drive may become corrupt or unreadable? I'm not too sure if the compatibility would still exist after a re-install? Also, any other easier ways to repair the pc would be appreciated?

I don't have answers for all yours woes. Reinstall will be helpful. But, I've moved whole directories and used "Symbolic Link Creator" utility to move %user% documents off the C: drive to another drive. Very useful to not lose the contents when I reinstall Windows. Look it up. Also have found a free "Little Registry Cleaner" has worked well. It goes beyond what "CCleaner" does and hasn't caused any problems. Most advise not to mess with registry, but it does a good job.

I use links for Documents, Downloads, Music, Pictures and Videos.

If the files are important, you should be backing them up anyway. If you haven't been doing backups, then maybe now is the time to start. At lest get an external drive, and copy the files to it and have a 2nd copy. If your HDD dies(and they can without warning), at least you'd have a copy.
