So basically what I have is an HDD with Windows 7 installed on it, which holds the Master Boot Record, and I just recently installed Windows 8 on my new SSD. What I want to do is put the Master Boot Record on the SSD so I can format the Windows 7 Hard drive, as when I try to boot with the HDD disconnected nothing will boot because this holds the MBR. How would I go about transferring it to the SSD?

Solution
Each drive has an MBR or GPT.
This only decides where on the drive to boot from, not which drive to boot from.

Check the boot order in the bios. Ensure the SSD is first in the boot order.

I guess the Windows installation may have installed some components to the existing Windows 7 partition, but you aren't going to be able to extract these and copy them to the SSD.
Ideally you should install Windows 8 with the HDD disconnected.
When you install the HDD again, ensure the SSD is first in the boot order.
You can then format the HDD from within Windows 8.

It is first in the Bios in the booting order, what I think happened is that I installed Windows 8 on the SSD from Windows 7 I didn't boot into the disk, there is no "System Reserved" partition on the SSD it's only on the HDD with the original windows 7 installation. I tried to rebuild the MBR using the Windows disc but it didn't work.

It is more than the MBR or the system reserved partition.
You may have chosen the SSD to install Windows 8, but the Windows 7 partition is still the boot partition.
You will have to remove the hard drive and do a fresh Windows 8 install on the SSD.
