Moving OS to a new SSD, not sure what to do about old HDD

So I'm buying an SSD and I'm going to clone my HDD onto my SSD so I have all the data and my OS. I'm just curious if I should reformat my HDD once I make sure the system boots from my SSD. I'd then use my hard drive as secondary storage. Also just curious if you guys have any tips or things to look out for during this process.

Solution
Once you have moved/cloned to a ssd, you can do what you wish with the old HDD.
You could simply remove the HDD and keep it as a backup.

I highly suggest Samsung ssd devices and their ssd windows mover app.
It has never failed for me.
