I'm planning on purchasing a Crucial P1 as my secondary drive, im wondering how I can transfer windows 10 to the new drive for a faster boot time as im using a HDD as my main drive, would I have to delete everything or can I just move the OS to the new drive?

If using WIn10, you could fresh install Win10 to the new SSD (best to disconnect your existing hard drive during this process!), then reinstall whatever applications you'd like onto the SSD... The hard drive can be quick formatted after you are satisfied everything is working, and used as a bulk storage and/or backups location
Getting a 1 TB SSD (Crucial MX500 for $105?) would allow you to clone/transfer everything in one fell swoop to it...; a smaller drive will require a fresh install, then installing whatever apps you wish to desired location/drive.

So could I delete a few games to get it under 400 Gb and then move all of it to the SSD and then transfer the stuff I don't want on the SSD back to the HDD

Specific steps for a successful clone operation:

Verify the actual used space on the current drive is significantly below the size of the new SSD
Download and install Macrium Reflect (or Samsung Data Migration, if a Samsung SSD)
Power off
Disconnect ALL drives except the current C and the new SSD
Power up
Run the Macrium Reflect (or Samsung Data Migration)
Select ALL the partitions on the existing C drive
Click the 'Clone' button
Wait until it is done
When it finishes, power off
Disconnect ALL drives except for the new SSD
This is to allow the system to try to boot from ONLY the SSD
Swap the SATA cables around so that the new drive is connected to the same SATA port as the old drive
Power up, and verify the BIOS boot order
If good, continue the power up
It should boot from the new drive, just like the old drive.
Maybe reboot a time or two, just to make sure.
If it works, and it should, all is good.
Later, reconnect the old drive and wipe all partitions on it.
This will probably require the commandline diskpart function, and the clean command.
Ask questions if anything is unclear.

Ok i did it and it doesn't boot from the new drive despite it being first in boot order, but it does say its a hard disk which is kind of confusing. I disconnected the HDD and left the SSD to boot on its own but it just says "Reboot and select proper boot device\or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key"

The first option is the new ssd but it says it’s a hard disk for some reason after that is what’s says is a UEFI hard disk in fixed boot order
But in hard disk drive bbs properties it has the ssd as the first boot and then the hard drive

i don’t see a windows boot manager option and putting the uefi hard disk first does nothing it still gives me the same message

Can you return the system back to original operating condition?
No SSD, just the original boot drive.

I mean physically disconnect the SSD.
What happens?
I think you may have missed a step or something in the clone process, possibly needing to redo it.

Can you use the Crucial software? Probably. I've never used it, so that's why I did not list it.
The new clone process should take care of what is currently on it.
