I have this SSD: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B079X7LMLY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_image_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

On this adapter: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0779727FY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I am using an ASRock Z77 Extreme6 and was hoping to install this for the upcoming Microsoft Flight sim. I don't intend to boot off of it, even if I could. I'm entirely aware there is probably an incompatibility issue, and will most likely return these for a standard ssd if this goes unanswered.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

This is what you should be looking for if you intend to buy that SSD. In retrospect, the platform is so old that I doubt you're going to see any benefit's with an M.2 SSD on it. In fact, I'd ask you to pick up a 2.5" SSD and hook it up to one of your SATA III ports that are native to the Z77 chipset and be done with it.
