Hi,
I don't know whether it helps but:
There might be a couple of reasons, why your System shows only half of the
memory.
1. The Memory chip is wrongly marked (it's not 256 MB but 128 MB only)
2. The memory chip is not 100MHz but 133MHz
3. the propriety chip is somehow incompatible.
The best would be to check memory chip in other computer.
Take also a diagnostic aplication Belarc which in my
case reads:
