MS Edge can't background download.

Am i missing something? When i try to close edge while an active download, it says "if you quit you may löse downloads.

All browsers basically do the same. If you are referring to Chrome lets you do this, that is because, by default, Chrome stays running in the background

I'm not aware of full background downloads...

You can't close the download page tab, just like every other browser.
They aren't download managers, they can't do that the way you wish to.

What you can do is, open the download tab and close all the other ones and leave Edge minimized.

that's the way its web browsers always been. if you close your web browser its just like exiting any other program.
