Hi, At our company many users access folders on a mapped drive. Opening for example MS Excel files is no issue, but some functions like doing find and replace will force Excel not to respond.

Does anybody know some solutions? On the web the solutions aren't hopeful

Not really a mapped drive issue, all the work will be done locally in your system's memory. Excel has many limitations and crashes often when you ask too much of it.

If you are constantly dealing with large datasets that need updating, you should be using a database.

The Excel application is installed locally, and the .xls is on the network?

That should be NO problem.
This is not a problem with Excel...you have other things going on.
