I just read the optical mouse review from THG. I am consider to get a MS Optical IntelliMouse. I found many computer hardware store sell OEM version of this mouse. Can anyone tell how do i know if it is the "newer" version (6000 image per second)? May be posting the part number of it??

Thanks in advance.

I don't want to be rude or something. I am talking about OEM version of the mouse. Do you know what is OEM mean?? OEM means Original Equipment Manufacturer. (more detail explanation can be fount at http://www.whatis.com) And guess what? THEY DON'T COME WITH A BOX. More like a pack of 10 or 20. So please read the question before answer it "professionally".

Thanks in advance.

Your post is the one "waste of bandwieth on the web".

Opps 😛
Slipped right over the OEM part. The only way to know for sure would be to ask the seller. Sometimes they will sell older models that they have in stock (just to get rid of them) and will only recieve the newer models on their next order. If you want the newer model, then you have to tell the seller that you want the newer model and not the older model. If you don't, they will only give you whatever they have in stock be it the old or new model. There isn't really a special product ID that would tell you (unless you work for microsoft) if it's the newer model. This is why you should get the retail version instead.
I currently use the older retail model. Went through 2 of these rats after the abuse I put it through on Unreal Tournament.

The latest version of the Intellimouse Explorer is version 3.0. The version should be printed on the bottom of the mouse itself - just above the bar code below the sensor.
