Computer with Office 2010, had Outlook set up so that when it opened a box popped up with upcoming tasks. Today the C drive crashed. After recovering from backup I had to reinstall Office. Now there's no box with upcoming tasks. Thoughts?

Windows: Edition, version, etc.?

Likely you will need to find and reset the applicable defaults/options.

What version of Office was installed (reinstalled)? Source?

My thought is that after the recovery Windows "phoned home" and did some updates that changed things.

"Going back" 11 years is likely going to be quite problematic overall.

In any case, perhaps the following Microsoft link will help:

It's Office 2013 running on a Windows 7 machine.

I was able to get the .pst file from the crashed drive. After the restore I opened it from Outlook and everything appeared as it was before the crash except the reminder window didn't come up. Strange...and yet it happened.
