MS update = No 3D

I just (4-15-04) downloaded and installed MS XP update and then tried to play BF 1942 and it froze in the first few seconds. Then I tried about 6 other 3D games and they all froze too. You don't think MS could have made a mistake? lol. The games played fine when the puter was on last. In fact, incredibly well.
Athlon 2500 barton, ASUS w Via KT400 chipset, 512m Corsair DDR 400, no overclock. If anybody knows how to uninstall the update, let me know please.

To uninstall, go to your last restore point. You may want to try re-installing Directx first though.

Thanks, did both successfully, however, am still freezing up during 3D games. It now freezes when I try to exit the gameplay at the selection screen.
Appreciate the effort tho. Maybe it is something else, but I went thru the display adapter driver options stuff. Guess I have to take it all apart and check every fan. Just in the 3D games, tho. HUH.
