MS Wireless IntelliMouse Explorer

I saw the review for optical mice.

I received a Microsoft Wireless IntelliMouse Explorer for my birthday in October. It came with 2 Energizer Batteries.

I was very disappointed that in 3 weeks and 1 day, my batteries were dead.

To be fair, I did not have the driver software that came with the mouse installed. I was using the driver that WIN XP had picked.

I now have the driver installed, so maybe that will help with battery conservation.

I also have lithium batteries in here now, so until these die, I won't be able to test alkalines again.

Other than that, this mouse is awesome! I really hope the driver software is necessary to conserve the battery.

How is the accuracy of the mouse? Does the curson move smoothly along the screen or does it 'pixel skip', moving a few pixels at a time instead of one at a time?

Battery life varies greatly with the surface it's on. The lighter the surface, the longer the batteries will last.

hmm, I've been wondering, can you use NiMH rechargeable batteries on them?

AMD technology + Intel technology = Intel/AMD Pentathlon IV; the ULTIMATE PC processor

I would assume you can use rechargeables, but I've never tried it.

Well, unfortunately the Lithium batteries I installed only lasted 1 week longer than the Energizer Alkalines the mouse came with.

3-4 weeks battery life is too inconvenient for me, I am going to return my Wireless Intellimouse Explorer and go for the wired version.
