Hi,

I feel ashamed for not really knowing what it's called (autorecover I guess), so forgive the explanation.

First of, I have a one time paid version of Office 2016 and does what I need it for. No way I'm paying for the 365 version every month or year when I can have a one off pay and its mine. It's also on Win 11 if this matters.

Now, as of lately, none of my existing documents I work on, seem to bring up the flag where I last left off. Usually when I close the file and open it some time later, I always have a little flag at the scroll bar telling me where I left off from X amount of hours/days ago. I click on it and I'm on the page I last worked on.

Thankfully all my changes are saved, but it has become very frustrating with long documents not really recalling where exactly you left of when opening the document. Oddly, there are days were it does show my last progress, but most of the time, it does not.
It didn't matter if I manually save it or let the program do it. On return, I'm right back on page 1 instead on the page I last worked on.

I tried to find out through Google what could be wrong here and pretty much all of them state to go to File-Options-Save and then select autorecover.
It's ticked and even entered it should save every minute but this sadly still doesn't fix my issue.

Hope my description was coherent enough what I mean. It's just very frustrating when working on long documents and you need to find out where you roughly left off only because Word no longer shows me that.

FYI:

Have not, full disclosure, worked with or tested the the suggested "go to" options.

However, give the three methods a try on a test ("expendable" :) ) document.

Determine if any of the methods meet your requirements.

If not then more research/"googling" will be necessary.

And in the meantime there may be other ideas and suggestions.
Thanks.
Looks like 2 and 3 seem to be the only option now. I tried pretty much everything else I could find on Google and nothing works. No idea why it worked all this time and all of a sudden its whenever it feels like.
