Hi all,

I have never installed extra memory before.

I have just bought a HP ENVY TouchSmart 15-j013ea and have bought the CT4855329 Crucial M500 120GB mSATA Internal SSD.

I want it to run as a separate hard drive, I am not going to try and move windows onto it. I will install office and indesign on it.

Is it simply a case of I plug it in, let windows format it and that is it?

I have not been able to find any installation videos on youtube for my computer. Can someone please point me in the correct direction.

Thanks in advance, Mark

Hi Anonymous1, thanks for answering.

I think I did not give enough information. I am not going to remove the existing HDD, I am going to plug a mSATA into a slot on the back of the laptop.

Can I just do this? And will windows recognise it, format it and then let me use it to install software different on.

My idea is to use the HDD for windows and for backing up files that I am not currently using.
