msata or pcie slot

Trying to upgrade the msata ssd in my streaming box, how do you tell if it is msata or pcie? they both use the same slot but are not cross compatible. here are some pics of the board and ssd

It's looking like mSATA. You can see the tag on the silkscreen to the left of the socket in the pic. The other one is the WiFi mini card, which does go into the PCI express slot.
