Hey Guys,
So I had to take the back off my laptop today as the hinge had snapped and needed replacing, while I was in there I happened to notice a mSATA port hidden down near the Sata ports. Now my laptop is the HP ENVY 17-j108tx, but I cant find any information on it at all.
So I'd like to put this in it: (https://www.pccasegear.com/products/31358/samsung-850-evo-series-msata-250gb-ssd) but I'm not sure if it will be compatible? Should i be okay or am i on shaky ground.
There is nothing in the bios, at the moment although I have not checked for a bios update from HP.
I was also thinking about buying extender rf leads to move the wifi card down into the hidden slot, so that the available slot where the wifi card was, could be used for a eGPU, but at the moment having a ssd would be awsome, what do you guys think.
Also not that this Laptop already has 2 2.5" Drirves which currently have 2 1TB HD's, so maybe i should just replace one of thoses, would that reduce battery consumption? I'd hope so.
Anyway all help much appreciated ,
Cheers Joel
