[SOLVED] MSI 1070 with i9 9900k

Im building a new pc soon and will be upgrading everything except the GPU for now. Will the 1070 be bottlenecked with the 9900k, 32gb ram etc. etc.

That CPU is plenty for the 1070 so I very much doubt it.

I think I asked the question wrong. I think I mean to ask is it a good enough card today to run games in ultra and still perform?

The answer would depend on the monitor resolution you are planning on using, the monitor refresh rate / the FPS you are hoping to achieve, and finally what games you are playing.

In general....it will play the vast majority of today's games on ultra at 1080p resolution at 60 fps minimum.
I think there may be a few that won't reach 60 on ultra.

I think you'll be fine with the 1070 for a while longer. With the performance expectations you mention in mind, you have a solid setup.
For 1080p 60Hz, the 1070 should still offer good performance.

Sounds good! Im pumping most my money into new ''high'' end rig, the new GPU will come later so Ill be sticking with the 1070 till then. Cheers guys

It is going to be interesting to see, what kind of performance the upcomming Nvidia cards will be capable of when they finally become available, and how it will affect pricing on current graphics cards, it could prove to be a really good reason for holding back on the GPU upgrade, for a little while longer. Good luck with the new build.

Yeah gtx 1070 is very good gpu and will run games on ultra
