MSI 1080 gaming X build advice

I need advice

my new build as below :

I7 7700
16gb hyper X Kingston fury 2400mhz
Asus Strix b250G
SSD 480 uv400
2tb HDD
A-data 1200W PSU
Asus vg248qe -24inch - 144hz -1080p

MSI GTX 1080 gaming x

first is there any overkill OR bottleneck with my build ?!


second I read online about Gtx 1080 overkill screen on 1080P 144hz and no benefits of using this card on 1080P screen , I still have chance to change it with gtx 1070 gaming X , price difference on my local store 100-120 US$ , i will not take it as cash money . I have to exchange with another components .

kindly note for best advice :
I will not upgrade any parts for next 2-3 years
I'm playing game on ultra setting -1080P - 144hz "DVI"
I'm not going to overclock any parts -I'm looking for perfect performance on stock without stress

Local buyer advised me MSI 1080 gaming x over STRIX GTX1080 GAMING he said " no much difference just little small dimension than Asus for my case , and more stabile that not much stock OC as Strix "

i still have chance to change it with the same price ...

2. get faster ram
3. Better PSU, seasonic evo/focus or supernova g2,g3,p2,p3
4. For 1080p gaming, even 1060 is enough. But 1070 good for 2k, 1080 good for 4k. Your call

I already bought this build and have only chance to exchange MSI gtx 1080 , still closed box not installed yet ..
first :
"wait for coffee lake " , will take long time to be available on my local store after release
get faster ram , motherboard b250G limit 2400 , so that's mean I have to get higher motherboard and higher ram , out of budget ,
higher ram only G.skill 3200 available on my local store & I had benchmark G.skill vs fury black , fury shows much better performance and lower CAS latency ....
PSU I already got it , for only " 130 US $ "last PCs offer " , 130 $ on my local stores , you can get maximum 550W
and this Adata - 1200W good enough future SLi or any other power needed , also I'm working on customize case and install 12v-400W air conditioner on my case - finally it was the only psu with 5 years warranty !

the most important
GTX 1070 good enough for my status ....sure about this ? 1080P 144hz ultra setting , next 2-3 years , no need for gtx1080 ?! that I will take your advice and exchange msi gtx 1080 gaming x with :

MSI GTX 1070 gaming x - difference -120 US$
Asus STRIX GTX1070 GAMING - difference -80 US$

Yeah exchange it if u can to the lowest priced gtx 1070 ,barnds coolers factory oc doesn't worth the extra price

If you don't want to wait for coffee lake at least get the 7700K

Since you already opened almost everything, setup is solid. Do exchange for 1070, will be good enough for 2k gaming
