I'm looking at buying an AMD fx-9590 220w 8-core 4.7ghz processor and I was wondering if there are any MSI mobos that would suppport that. DDR3 memory support would be nice but If neccessary I can move up to DDR4.
That makes sense, I have an EVGA Gold 850w modular power supply, and a h100i v2 for cooling. I am open to other suggestions of cpu's and motherboards. I apologize for any lack of information.
Good, just making sure. Don't want to recommend you something that could lead to burning out your components - both of those are excellent choices.
If you absolutely *must* have an FX-9590, this is what I would recommend, though I need to reiterate that I would absolutely not buy this CPU.
Don't. The 9590 is probably the worst consumer CPU release since some of the late Pentium 4s. Hot, unstable, and doesn't actually do anything impressive if you tame it. Any Ryzen or any Kaby Lake would be a better use of your money.
While the Ryzen is tempting I only have a msi 970-g46 mobo, so I would have to upgrade that in order to use them, unfortunately my budget is only around 3-400 for both a mobo and cpu. I'd like to stay with an msi board and an amd cpu as my gpu is an msi model.
I need to upgrade for the use of Vectorworks and 3D rendering.

I'm not quite understanding here - you'd have to upgrade to use a 220W motherboard anyway. So in any case, you'd need to buy both a motherboard and CPU. To run a 9590, you also need a high-end power supply and high-end cooling, which will run you around $250 by themselves unless you already have those.
Also, the brand GPU model has zero to do with the brand motherboard. They all work from the same basic PCB; there's no benefit to matching a MSI motherboard with an MSI GPU instead of an ASUS GPU or an EVGA GPU.
Gotchya, I already have cooling and power taken care of. So i guess a better question would be what would you reccomend for a mobo/cpu combination with the cpu having 8 cores.
I have no recommendation for a 9590 with cooling and power just "taken care of" and no additional information. I don't know if it *actually* is taken care of, so I'm ethically bound to not make recommendations that could do harm.

I know you requested an MSI, but there's only one MSI AM3+ that can handle a 220W MB left in the regular retail chain and it's only a 6+2 phase motherboard, which I would not recommend. The Asus there is an 8+2; the VRMs are very important when trying to use a CPU like this. And again, MSI GPU will work the same with any motherboard; the brands of a GPU all are the same basic GPU, with differences in cooling solution, overclock, software suite, and customer service.
I've heard good things about the sabertooth, and I agree that the 9590 is not the best option, thanks for the help. I'll probably wait to be able to get a Ryzen.

If you do, I think you'll be very happy. The Ryzen are wonderful heavy-duty work CPUs and they're way more competitive on the gaming side than the old FX series.
