GPU-MSI Radeon RX 5700XT gaming x
MB- B450M ds3h
SSD- ipsg 256 gb
RAM- (2x8GB) crucial d4
CPU-Ryzen 5 2600x
Monitor- dual aoc 24" 144 hz
Psu- 650w evga supernova g1 80+ gold

I play archeage unchained, and I'm aware people have issues with the game and fps. Prior to updating to this gpu i was using a gtx 1650 gaming gpu. I was averaging between 70 and 90 fps in crowded areas and 90 to 111 in less crowded. After updating, I've not only had my fps drop to 30 to 60 fps in crowded areas it has also started stuttering when moving/turning.

When i changed out the gpu i ran ddu in safe mode and then installed the recommended drivers through amd.

Nothing in my system has gone over 65 c temp wise per hwmonitor.

Just curious if anyone knows how to fix this before i send it back.

I've just recently gotten into learning about pc's and specs and such. Just figure i know nothing when describing what i need to do. Thank you all.

Solution
Did you try running a benchmark like 3DMark to make sure the card is working normally or another game? An issue with a single game can be a driver issue or a game engine issue. When swapping hardware it's a good idea to get a baseline of the performance so you can compare things after the swap. If you have any other benchmark scores for the system, run the benchmarks on the new card and see how they compare.

You also have dual monitors, see how things run with just one monitor connected. And make sure you are comparing same settings, since you got the card it may have automatically adjusted the game options to higher settings.

so i had a rx 5700 xt for 7 months and got a couple of advices on troubleshooting:
  1. make sure your PCIe x16 is set to Gen3, Gen4 can cause issues (i was using a riser cable and switching helped a lot).
  2. reseat your gpu, might sound stupid but helps;
  3. put an aggressive fan curve, this card tends to get hot, keep temps low.
  4. if you have discord open, either close it or disable Hardware acceleration (that gave me annoying crashes), any other software that uses HW acceleration must be closed or have HW acceleration disabled.
  5. install both latest gpu drivers and chipset drivers;
  6. update your bios to the latest version;
  7. disable that crappy enhanced sync and anti lag. also radeon chill if happens to be active.
  8. if your gpu is dual bios, switch to the "gaming" one, not the quiet.
  9. DDU, but you've already done it.
  10. hopefully you don't need this, but just in case do a windows fresh install.
