MSI 660ti PE 1 Fan Spinning

Greetings,I Recently gave my old GPU - MSI 660ti PE to a friend and we used an adaptor 8pin to 6pin to connect it since his PSU had a PCI-e cable with a 6+2pin and a 8pin (660ti requires x2 6pins).When pc starts both fans spin but after a while 1 stops.After searching on google I've figured out that after I switch on MSI afterburner fan control to 86% the second one starts working as well. Core clock and memory clock speeds are normal,the fan thing is weired though..I dont really remember if it was like that on my pc too.Is it twin frozr technology for power consumption or is it a faulty fan/gpu?

Thats weird, both should run all the time. The second fan is probably faulty.

maybe the adaptor is the issue?on my rig i was using a 1 cable with 6pin male for psu and x2 6+2 pins for the card.hes using an adaptor as i said.got an extra cable to connect to the pcie 8pin female to 6pin male
