I have a AMD Athlon II X3 455 and I want to unlock it's forth core so I can have an AMD Phenom II x4 B55! My problem is that every time I unlock it in the bios and restart to windows to check I just get the same old CPU? I have tried manually unlocking it but when I do that and reboot I get 2 beeps and then a screen pops up and tells be to insert a USB with the latest bios?

Here are my specs:

Operating System
Windows 10 Pro 64-bit
CPU
AMD Athlon II X3 455 30 °C
Rana 45nm Technology
RAM
4.00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 800MHz (9-9-9-24)
Motherboard
MSI 740GM-P25 (MS-7623) (CPU1)
Graphics
E320VP (1920x1080@60Hz)
1024MB ATI AMD Radeon HD 6800 Series (XFX Pine Group) 46 °C

I have a wt575i power supply

Solution
Some others who have more experience will probably chime in here but the reason that core is locked is because it didn't pass testing, not just for the hell of it. Now in some cases folks got lucky and it worked fine, but in just as many they do not. So if its not showing unlocked or not booting very likely that core is bad which is why its locked.
