MSI 760GM-P21/P23 question

A few years back I built 3 PCs for our house --- 760GM-P21 boards in two of them and a P23 for the other......they have been running great and I even have one that was dedicated to editing video . Using Athlon Phenom II 6 core processors in them.

I know the mobo maxes out at 16gb and has two slots.

But does anyone know how many GBs each slot is supposed to support?

I have two 16b sticks of corsair 1333 DDR3 memory and each one installed individually only comes up at 8...together, 16gb.

Is the mobo limited here?

I looked all over the place and cant find any info on the "per slot" question.

16GB is what the AMD 760g chipset officially supports, although, some have reported success with using larger chips.

Now, to use more than 16GB, you need to be running a minimum of Windows 7 Pro x64.

Well, I found out the answer to this, in case anyone else ever needs the answer....

16 GB total on the motherboard but only 8 gb per slot.
