Hello this is my first post here, I usually can solve my problems by digging through old posts but Im very stumped this time!
Im not the most tech savvy but I will try to be clear.

I have a 1 year old PC with an MSI 760GMA-P34 motherboard and running windows 8.1.
Today, I replaced the system fan with an exactly identical new one because the old fan was very dirty.
This seemed like no problem to me. This was a 3 wire fan that is connected to a 4 pin connector in the SYSFAN1 slot.

However, when I plugged in my computer again and tried to boot it up I get the single BIOS beep but then I get stuck on a windows screen that says "Preparing Automatic Repairs". If I reset the PC, I get to the same screen except there is no text, and the BIOS beep check sound just starts beeping repeatedly until you hard shutdown the PC. This is happening in a loop.

Ive tried accessing bios, but pressing the delete key is not working at all. Ive also tried F2, F8, F1, and F12. I cant access BIOS! Ive tried using the windows reinstallation disc and the MSI driver disk. None of these attempts have gotten my PC out of this loop it is in.

I didnt think replacing my system fan would bring so much havoc! Is there any hope for my PC? Thanks in advance...

Replacing the fan on the cooler shouldn't cause that type of issue, but replacing the whole cooler is different since there always is a slight possibility of damaging the CPU or the motherboard. What happens if the fan isn't connected at all? Don't keep the system powered on for more than 30 seconds if it POST.

As stated above the fan would not cause this issue. The only possible problem could be that you have possibly damaged the CPU or another more likely problem would be the motherboard would have been damaged due to static coming from your body and hitting the board. Static is very under-estimated and can cause real problems for your system. Off the top of my head I would suggest checking your CPU and RAM first, if not any of those the only fix would be to replace the board. Also try clearing your CMOS settings and bringing everything back to factory defaults.

Thanks for all the help, do you know how I would go about checking my RAM, CPU and CMOS? Ive tried to access BIOS about a hundred different ways, holding and pressing del, all F1-F12 keys. Nothing is working. The mobo manual said to press del repeatedly but its not working at all.

I was thinking about the static charge too, but the machine gets thru POST and gives the all clear single BIOS beep. Just windows 8 wont start up it just says its PReparing Automatic Repairs indefinitely.

Also I tried running the machine with the fan totally disconnected and this did nothing either.

Thanks for the help, Ill post a video later to help clarify my problem

Okay, I changed the title of the thread to avoid more confusion

I replaced all 3 of the sata cables with ones I know work and I am still getting the error. What should I do now?
Thanks again
