hey everybody
to start with i'm not that gamer :D
i've just buy an graphic card (yeah well guess) the MSI n9500GT 512Mo GDDR2, i know it's not that good card but at least i think (in a normal case) the card handle most of the games released till today!

my computer specification is :
Mobo -> Asus P5GC-MX/1333
CPU -> Pentium D 3.4Ghz 4MO L2
Ram -> 3072Mo DDR2 667Mhzcache
PSU -> 400Watts WitneSS

my problem is i can't play smoothely on a regular game such as Call Of Duty:World at War.
the graphics displayed works fine but it's so slow....even when i play on a low resolution with no AA and low textures details :S

or better sometimes the game starts good but after few secondes start lagging........and after few secondes the game run fast then the speed it meant to be played :eek:

so please O mighty reader please help me!

Its probably not the graphics card. You CPU is the one holding your gaming experience back. You should consider upgrading t atleast a dual core.

Hi there!

I don't think your CPU is holding you back cuz The minimum requirement is a Pentium 4 3Ghz .Yours is obviously better than that.
Not even the Graphic card.

Something else is holding you back.
Which OS BTW?

dump that CPU for a better cpu - your motherboard WILL support atleast the 65nm core 2 duo's (NOT quads) - Core 2 Duo E6xxx, E4xxx, E2xxx and E1xxx so check those options out

also disable the AA in the game - dunno why its enabled at 4x by default (if i remember correctly)

your video card isnt that powerful so dont expect miracles there either

well i see thanks anyway!
the motherboard support the 45nm!!
so the trick is to change the CPU...yeah it's time to do it!

I'm going to go with a CPU problem as well, but not the one already mentioned. The P4s that ran over 3GHz were very hot. If this is an older build, the chances are high that the heatsink is now coated in dust, preventing it from working properly. If this is the case, the CPU is throttling itself to prevent it from getting to hot. Opening the case and cleaning the sink might fix your issue.

Another problem is that 9500GT. With slow DDR2 memory, I'm not even sure its faster then a 7600GT. A 9500GT isn't anything more then an 8600GT. An 8600GT is only mildly faster then a 7600GT. These 9500/8600GTs used faster DDR3 memory, so you are using something as fast as 7600GT, if even that. Check your temps, clean your sink, and possibly get a real gaming card.

according to the dc output max chart:
+12v -> 10A
tnx viper can please tell me which CPU did you use with the 9500GT
and also which PSU (Watt,brand...)

10A is way too low for a 400w PSU.
My old generic 400w had 18Amps on +12v rail and the current one has 30A on the 12v rail(also a 400w unit)

Better get a new PSU first.
Cuz even if you change the proccy you will definitely need to change the PSU.

I recommend a Corsair CX400 for you.its gr8 lil thing and even powers my 9800GT.
Some ppl even have a GTX 260 on that!

But you can go for a cheaper unit also(like OCZ,Coolermaster etc etc) if the budget doesn't allows a CX400.

All those suggesting that a CPU change will improve performance with that card are talking cobblers, that card is good for 1080 video playback but absolutely crap for gaming a 9600GT/GSO 8800/9800 series card would be a much better idea but would still benefit from/require a PSU change.

1st try getting new psu just in case or try in friends pc
i had this card running with a amd 6000+ dual core 3.0
also i was running cod 4 and 5 at 1980*1080 with AA*0
an rest on high and worked fine
i know this card is a low profile card but it should run cod 4-5 np i know for a fact it can run GTA iv n medium settings at 1024*1024
