well i've been searchin for a good mobo with SLI and this one seemed to b the cheapest one that can support Core 2 Duo (coz i want a C2D system) that i could find, but according to their site:

http://www.msi.com.tw/program/products/mainboard/mbd/pro_mbd_detail.php?UID=745

they say it's got 1x PCI-E x16 and 1x PCI-E x4 and is designed to support Crossfire, i was wondering if anyone has this board to c if it has SLI support or is it strictly for Crossfire only?

-Thanks

Officially it's not SLI compatible, unofficially you can run SLI with hacked drivers (not 8800s as they aren't supported by the hacked drivers).

If you must have SLI then look at F650i boards - Asus P5N-E, abit FP-IN9, MSI P6N SLI-Fi etc.
Thing is do you need SLI?
Most people are better of investing in 1 really good gfx card than 2 medium.

but if that board does not support SLI officially, it means i wont b getin the SLI bridge rite? if so, where can a get a SLI bridge?

The other issue is that the 2nd physical PCI-E x16 slot only runs at x4 in dual gfx mode.
You can buy SLI bridges separately.

MSI have the P6N SLI-FI/Platinum, Asus have the P5N-E SLI & abit have FP-IN9 6590i SLI mobos ~130.

depends what res etc. you run but it definitely has a negative effect.
Tests have shown that 975X & RD600 have better Crossfire performance.
