MSI 970 Gaming cpu help

I recently purchased a zotac 1070 not realizing my fx 6300 would bottleneck it so much. I want to know what is the BEST cpu i can get for the MSI 970 Gaming mobo.

Any CPU you get on AM3+ socket will bottleneck GTX 1070. Best you can get is FX 8370, but even with heavy OC it will still bottleneck 1070.

Is that the best cpu i can currently get? I mean i dont want to have to change mobo and cpu to intel but if its that or bottleneck

It is best you can get and it will still bottleneck, sorry to say it but that is how it is with current AMD CPU's and high end GPU's.
In about 2 months time Zen will come so if you can wait until then it would be much better to do upgrade then than now.

The zen will work with my current setup? or would i need a new mobo

You will need new mobo and DDR4 RAM unfortunately.

PCI-E 2 is enough for GTX 1070, he just have CPU bottleneck. I even have it on my GTX 1060 and he have 1070 with FX 6300.

You can get a lot better processors that what st3v30 is saying, the best you can get is not the 8370. You can get the 9590 which is also a AM3+

9590 is just factor OC'd version of 8370 and he will need for it beastly cooler and strong PSU + his mobo doesnt support 9590.
