I bought an Msi 970 gaming mobo with 2 r9 380 GPUS(same type).
Can this board crossfire effectively enough To get full performance out of it? Or do I need a better crossfire compatible board?
I am not getting 1 gpu.

Okay I was just wondering because my crossfire isn't improving my performance in games at all

Depends on the games. Not every game can utilize crossfire. Try with proven titles, which are known to perform better in crossfire. Also I know it's stupid but are you certain your PC is using both cards, check if both cards are active and give info on their PCI-E configuration (are they running as x4 or x8 or x16 and are they running in PCI-E 3.0 and etc, not that it should matter, but still).

How do I check their pcie config?
I know both work because they are picking up, and I'll go into a game and the logo will be on the top right. Checked crossfire, enabled it for the games I play on steam, everything checks out.
Msi afterburner just shows the one card doing everything and the other acts like it's not doing anything. No fluctuating temps or gpu usage percent

are you gaming in full screen?

CF does not work in windowed modes

to make sure your gpu's are running correctly open a benchmark program like

valley, heaven, or 3dmark

they are free, post back with your scores

if the gpu's are getting the scores they should in benchmarks, and the game supports CF

then the possibility is your cpu is insufficient to utilize them properly in actual games if you are not gaining fps

Yes I am gaming in full screen.
Yeah the little "crossfireX" goes away when I switch to windowed

did you enable crossfire in catalyst control center?

Yes I did
