Some motherboards have an onboard power/reset switch, so you can easily test/run your setup without installing it in a case and connecting the case wiring to the motherboard. This can be a handy feature, but it really doesn't make any difference if you're planning to setup your motherboard directly in the case.

Hi there I was looking at the msi 970 gaming mobo and I was reading a review and it said there's n power or reset switch... What does this mean.
Ps that s is for a fx 6300 and a msi 280
that review was saying that abount motherboard buttons this motherboard has no buttons to turn on off / restart your computer however it has connections for your case on off switch and restart button
Thanks for the answers so if I test it to make sure it's running okay outside of the case what do I do. I have watched videos where someone used a screw driver and it turned the mobo on?
