Hi all. I bought a new motherboard, psu, and chip (I'll list them further down). Used my old gtx 670 gpu's and ram and they were definitely working on my old machine.

Problem I got its everything starts up (or it appears too) but I'm getting no display on the monitor. I'm connecting from the dvi slot to hdmi with a converter cable.

I've gone through the troubleshooting list I've seen on this forum and now run out of ideas.

Anyone have any idea what it possibly is?

The motherboard comes without a speaker and no on board graphics

Computer parts;

Msi 970 gaming mb
2x gtx 670 gpu
Amd fx8350 chip (water cooling)
Evga 850w psu
4 x 4gb corsair ddr3 ram

I'm in work at the minute so can't test. But just thought of something else to add.

Because my cpu is water cooled and all my fans are connected to a fan controller I've got nothing plugged into the cpu fan port.

Would this cause my problem do you reckon?

Edit: tried it. Didn't make any difference

Thanks

I myself have the MSI 970 Gaming and i have had a issue with that when i just built my rig, i did the following:

-Reseat ram 1 by 1 see if it starts up, if so it could be a bad ram.
-Check if CPU doesn't have bent or broken pins.
-Reseat CMOS.

After i did that, i contacted the website i ordered from and came to a agreement to send back my cpu and get it tested and see if i could get a new one, it was broken and i got a new one i safely applied it made sure it was in good and it worked again.

Try those steps if not get it tested at a local pc store.

I was dreading someone saying that lol. Means I've got to take apart all my water cooling system.

I've tried the 3 suggestions you said. But before I get it tested I've got a mate I'm going to borrow a cable and a different ram stick from, on the off chance its just the cable not picking up or somehow all 4 of my ram cards are broke.

Thanks for your reply mate
