MSI 970 - On-board audio questions? Speaker replacement options?

Hi all -
I have an MSI 970 motherboard. One thing I don't completely understand is the on-board audio connections. I have a little set of PC speakers, some $15 Logitechs. Based on what I've read so far, these are analog, but the MSI 970 only has digital out at the rear of the PC. I can connect to the front panel connector and they function as expected, but that just adds more clutter - to run a cable over the top of the PC for that connection. As of right now, this is just a PC that I game on a little now and again, there is no need for an expensive solution, but I would like to find a way to get this functioning from the rear connections if possible.

If I wanted to replace these PC speakers, how would I determine if the replacements are going to work with this digital connection? Or am I off-based on what I need all together? The look like normal 3.5mm audio jacks. There are 6 jacks on the back of the board, and they aren't super clear to me what I'd use all 6 for. Line-In, Line-Out, Mic, RS-out, CS-out, SS-out. Any insight would be much appreciated, as well as any sort of options for potentials replacements would be welcomed as well.

Thanks - Jay

Did you read the manual? I did and this is what it has on the rear audio ports:

From that I deduce you have to connect the speakers to port line-out.

Which is the middle-left connector.
