I just built a new pc with the 970A-G43 AM3+ mobo but I'm considering getting a better board cause this one seems to get hot and starts to...hiccup so to speak.it's like it just gets horrible lag spots.now my ultimate goal here is to settle on a build that i can just slowly upgrade over the next few years as hobby that can be used for gaming hard core on any of the high detailed games and be used for any programming or electrical hobbies i have.iwould like to have as many different ports and future tech features asd possible so i canmake my own applications for such futuristic stuff...so who had a recommendation?
Looking for as many sata ports and usb ports as possible with the ability to accept 32+gb in ram and the amd fx 9xxx series cpus (currently just using a fx 8320as i bought the cpu +mobowith 4gbs for 175bucks)
And Support for hdd overt 3tb
Please feel free to throw any suggestions out there

The MSI AM3+ boards are not good in general and I wouldn't recommend any MSI board for FX chips with any thing lower than the 990 chipset, and then at the same price point you may as well get an Asus or a Gigabyte board, which I believe would be better especially for overclocking. You don't need to get a 9xxx chip, just get a nice motherboard and a decent aftermarket cooler and OC youf 8320 if you feel like wanting more performance out of it. What do you mean be hiccups btw? Do you mean stuttering and lags while running games? And what graphics card do you have?
No, unfortunately it is not. It appears on this spreadsheet: https://spreadsheets.google.com/spreadsheet/pub?key=0AgN1D79Joo7tdE9xMUFlMEVWeFhuckJEVF9aMmtpUFE&gid=0 for the very issue you are experiencing; VRM problems.
There aren't too many boards that can comfortably handle the FX-9xxx chips. You may be happy with your FX-8320, especially on a good OC board. Check out the Asus 990FX Sabertooth. It's a little pricy, but includes a five-year warranty. Your plan seems to be building for durability and longevity (as I do), so that board would be a good choice.

for the hdd that is dependant on windows and has nothing to do with mobo. win7 can support 4 tb drives i have 2 and run win 7 but you have to format them to be recognized as a 4 tb drive
the 9xxx series are just factory overclocked 8350s but if you do not like to overclock it is a perfect solution for you
as for mobos if you want to deal with unwanted thermals this is definately the board for you

Yes hiccups are just random intermittent lag spots that happen on more frequent intervals based on the amount of use or the intensity of the use more so. And as for a heat sink im usingthe cooler master hyper evo 212 and 5 120mm fans (2top mounted exhaust at 90cfm,one front mount 90cfm and a 103cfm rear exhaust, with stock evo212 fan cooking the heat sink), when running cinebench and mine craft at tree same time i barely get to 50Celsius so heat should not be a issue but i still get lag spots... and could someone please tell me what boards are better than msi I'm looking at gigabyte , asus ,msi , and i can't recall that other popular board manufacturer but i just need like 3 top recommended makers to choose from if done one could give me that hint please. And here is my build specs

AMD FX-8320 Vishera 3.5GHz (4.0GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 125W Eight-Core Processor - BLACK EDITION

2TB Seagate Barracuda STBD2000101 7200 6Gb/s 64MB 3.5"

MSI IN565-A650 (Blitz) Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case 650W Seasonic Power

hyper 212 evo Heat sink

asus, gigabyte and msi are the tip imo. the one i linked is pricey but one of the best you can get. you would be better off getting a 990fx chipset as 970 arent really made that well to handle vishera and that is why your experiencing hiccups

Go to the spreadsheet I linked and look for boards not known for problems.

It isn't CPU heat that is the problem, it is the VRMs on the board. Pushed hard, especially by an OC, the cheap MSI's VRMs will pop; your CPU could still be quite chilly. Two of us have recommended the Asus 990 FX Sabertooth. My second choice would probably be a high-end ASRock, and Gigabyte would be a distant third.

^That's a very good point. The GT620 is not a gaming card. Still, that it "seems to get hot and starts to...hiccup so to speak" implies it may not start out that way, or gets worse.
For playing games, you will need to replace your graphics card as well. At this point, knowing your total budget for upgrades would be useful, but I'd think you'd want to spend at least $90-$100 on a graphics card, like a HD7770 at the least.

I have a similar issue; I am hoping to build a custom build sometime (mass-produce, actually, despite that sounding a bit ambitious), and I really can't afford to get a board above about $80; and yet, I also need to have something that's adequate for high-end gaming. Here's a link to the setup, please tell me if there are any incompatibilities or risks involved!
