I recently encountered an issue with my MSI 970a-G46 and my AMD FX-8350 while I was video editing, my CPU went to 100% load and a few minutes after that, my screen went dark; my monitor turned off, but when I looked over at my rig, the power led was blinking as if it were on stand-by mode. I pressed the power button and nothing happened, so after that, I decided to hold the power button to turn it off. I unplugged the power chord from my power supply and opened my case.
Upon doing that, I gave it about 15 minutes because I thought my computer just needed to cool down and after waiting, I turned it back on, but there was no post. I noticed that on my motherboard, all 4 of the phase LED lights weren't on, only Phase 1 was on, and Phase 2&3 were blinking (fast). There was no Phase 4.
After doing more research, people told me it could have been the motherboard, so I decided to RMA my motherboard (since my rig is only a year old, I was still covered by my warranty). Yesterday, I received my motherboard and plugged everything in, but I got the same outcome. There was no post, only this time, the CPU Phase LED was only showing Phase 1 (not blinking or anything) and none of the other 3 LEDs at all.
I don't know why my PC isn't working, it's only a year old so I have no idea why it's acting like this, is my CPU dead? Or is there another reason for this? Any solutions?
Thank you,
Erick
EDIT: Although it says it supports my CPU, does this motherboard REALLY support my CPU? (It says it doesn't support CPUs with a tdp of 200W)
